Here are alternative healing tips to support your natural health and immune system.
How about boosting the support you give your immune system by including mind-body techniques such as meditation, affirmations and positive psychology?
Imagine taking the time to relax and meditate.
- Settle into a chair or lie down.
- Intend to relax, shut your eyes and breathe deeply three times.
- Take a moment and just feel your breath go in and out.
- When you feel settled, scan your body slowly from toe to head asking each part how it is and what it needs to be at its peak health.
- Thank each part of your body for the fabulous job it is doing for you.
- Afterwards, make a plan to care for the needs of each part of your body.
Next, minimize and transform stress and be kind to yourself.
I mean really be kind to yourself. Many people do not know how to be kind to themselves.
- You need to set good boundaries. Try being assertive about your needs, calmly expressing what you want and feel while owning your emotions and needs as your own.
- Soothe yourself when you are stressed, frustrated, or ill. Seek out a supportive family member or friend. Whether you talk about what’s bothering you or just enjoy each other’s company, you can feel less alone and more cared for.
- Pick up your favorite hobby. I take gardening breaks. Zipping out to the garden for a few minutes gets me moving, pleases me immensely, and calms my mind. When I come back to my work, I feel fresher and more energized. I may even have new ideas about a knotty problem.
- Watch a favorite show or play a game. Kick back and have some easy, untaxing fun.
- Enjoy your senses. Revel in a soothing hot bath with delicious soaps. Burn a scented candle or oils with a fragrance that truly pleases you. (I have a fabulous chocolate scented candle.) Look at beautiful imagery, photos or art. Get a massage. Listen to your favorite music or the birdsong in your yard. Eat your favorite food slowly, savoring each bite. (And chicken soup is great when you have a cold or flu!)
Try reiki and healing energy as a super immune system support booster.
Reiki is a gentle, harmless yet powerful, natural alternative healing energy.
If you are not a reiki practitioner, visit one to get a treatment. Or, better yet, become a reiki practitioner yourself by being attuned by a reiki master. It’s easy to do.
If you are a reiki practitioner, support your immune system by giving yourself reiki with the reiki power symbol to your upper chest area where the thymus is located. The thymus is important to the immune system.
For colds and flu, give yourself reiki to your throat chakra, your sinuses and ear canals as well as your head- front, back, sides and top. You can also give yourself a full body reiki treatment.

Finally, let’s reiterate the basics because they really are important to the support of a healthy immune system.
- Eat plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits and grains.
- Exercise regularly, preferably outdoors in fresh air and sunlight.
- Drink your water.
- Take a highly absorbable multi vitamin. Vitamin C may be useful. You might consider Vitamin E and omega 3s.
- Zinc, Echinacea, and Goldenseal can be supportive when taken at the first sign of cold or flu symptoms.
- Get your rest- at least 8 hours or more.
